My girlfrined and I are doing a summit attempt this weekend. After hiking some of Colorado's 14ers last summer it didn't take me long to realize I needed to enter the Whitney lottery. You see her last name is...wait for it...Wait for it...Whitney.

So if you see a dumb idiot taking photos with a 5 lbs digital SLR camera (not to mention the tri-pod I also bring) on the summit, that will be me taking a photo of Ms. Whitney on top of Mt. Whitney.

Hope you get your permit (first and foremost) and may you and Ms Whitney have fun up there and out there in the Gr8YdOpn at 14,497.61 feet or whatever (or is that "que-ever" in spanglish.)
