Did a one-day hike on Sunday from the Portal to the summit. What a day. Had beautiful weather and a near perfect hike. I'll post a full report later.
We did lose a pair of hiking poles while glissading down he chute. If anyone finds them I would greatly appreciate getting them back. They were a birthday present and have some sentimental value. They were Black Diamond in the silvere/orange color. I can't imagine there are more than one pair lost on the chute so if any are found that has to be them. Thanks for reading this.

Were you ok with trekking poles--and no ice ax and crampons-- I am going next week.. need to decide on crampon rentals?

We could have gone up and back without crampons but got to the chute and wanted to try the glissade. We used the ice ax on a section of snow/ice just below Trail Crest. Snow was melting fast though. Probably the first 20 or so switch backs had enough water running down them to filter water from.
