Two simple questions:
I know Mt Whitney trail crosses Lone pine creek several times. Would any of these crossings require switching from boots to some sore of wet shoe or sandals?

Also what is the best map for the trail. I have USGS quads for the area.

Thanks

First question: nope. PLenty of rocks/logs, just step over.

Second question: if you're just heading up the trail, the Tom Harrison Mt. Whitney Zone map should do just fine. More detail would be available from different scale topos (his is 1:31,680, 1"=1/2 mile). You can find more info here.
