Hi Everyone,
I consider myself a "lurker" as I try to read this board daily year round. I have benefited greatly from everyone's experiences, and the few times I have posted questions, received nformative responses. I've done Whitney via the main trail a few times, and last summer had a blast experiencing Whitney beginning from the Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead and going over New Army Pass.
So here's my question. If anyone has a trip set up that involves a shuttle beginning on 7/31, 8/1, or even 8/2 I may be able to join in and help with expenses. I have no set location in mind (I'd prefer to not go too much past Bishop), no permit (I have always been successful when I've needed to do a walk in), and would be interested in any trip starting anywhere - it does not need to include Whitney. I would not hang out with your group - I'd contribute my fair share of expenses and then be on my way. One thing I liked about using a shuttle last year was ending at a different location than where I started.
Why don't I just schedule and pay for a shuttle myself like I did last year? I need to keep my expenses down, and if this doesn't work out, I'll return to the Cottonwood Lakes area and concentrate on getting Langley, or do a loop out of Sequoia (depending on the air quality). Not a bad second choice!
So, I guess that's it. I hope I explained what I was looking for. Thanks to those of you who are regular contributors! There are probably many like me who read this Board consistently and don't contribute much.
Brian
Or - If anyone can give me some loop trip suggestions for 4-6 days on the Eastern Sierra side that would be great!
