Our group day-hiked to the summit on Sept 28, 2007, just two days after your trip up (only three of six of us made it), so I know how "fun" the snow drifts and ice on the switchbacks were to get across. I'm headed up again on another day hike this Friday, July 11 and glad to read the snow's gone this time. Looks like we'll have to deal with heat this time around, though.

Congratulations! I've always thought that if I got married again, it would have to be to a woman who could make it to the top of Whitney and still look pretty enough to kiss!

Was the ceremony performed by a priest, JoP, or the like, or did you have to have someone up to the hike certified to perform the ceremony?
