Hi,
I have an earlier post about helping w/gas or shuttle expenses for trips beginning around 7/31 - 8/2. Now it looks like I may be able to change my start date to around 7/19 - 7/21. The Onion Valley trip to Whitney is a possibility. Is anyone going out of Onion Valley near those dates that will be getting a ride to the trailhead from the Portal? If so, I'd like to leave my car at the Portal and go with you. I wouldn't be joining you for the hike, just the ride over.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

I will be leaving Orange County in the morning on Wednesday July 30th to acclimate at the Portal Campground for a day hike on Sunday August 3rd. My friends will be coming up on Friday August 1st. We will all be retuning Monday August 4th. If the 30th works for you, I could drop you off anywhere between Orange County and the Portal and we could arrange to meet somewhere for the ride home.

Gary.

Thanks, Gary,
Your dates fit mine, but i'm okay getting to the Portal to leave my car. I just need a ride to the OV trailhead to start my hike, which sounds like it's out of the way for you. I sent you a pm, but figured I'd respond here in case anyone else could fit me in. If not, I'll go with plan B,C, or D.
Thanks, again!
Brian

Brian,

I could give you a lift to the trailhead. We could meet at the Portal campground or store someitme on Wednesday or Thursday and you could leave your car there.

I had planned on setting up camp on wednesday when I arrive and then maybe a short hike to Lone Pine Lake, but that should not take long and I should have plenty of time to give you a ride either before or after my hike.

Let me know what you want to do, my schedule is pretty flexible, I am jsut trying to get time at altitude.

Thanks for considering this, Gary! I just sent you a private message. If you don't get it, please let me know me at the4hamiltons@hotmail.com so we can discuss this further.
