Tuolumne Meadows

I will be hiking from Tuolumne to Twin Lakes and would like to score a ride from Mono Village to Tuolumne (or at least to 395)

I've never been to Mono Village. In august, there should not (conjecture) be any problem hitching a ride. or could there be? i so, any alternatives?

If I recall, the village at the west end of Twin Lakes is a privately owned campground with some cabins. Lots of fishermen and boats, etc. at Twin Lakes. Fish planted regularly.

So I think if you don't look to grizzled from your hike, you ought to be able to get a ride down to the 395 and then to Lee Vining and Tuolumne Meadows.

You might consider doing the opposite -- park your car at Twin Lakes, then hitch to TM before your hike.

mono village has showers too which will be nice after your trip and might make hitchin a ride easier. lots of campers/fisherman there that time of year so getting a ride down to bridgeport shouldn't be a problem, then hopefully someone will pick you up for the trek down 395. check out the diner at mono village, get some fresh lake trout or if you really want to be risky get the 2 plate chicken fried steak.
