DonR,

I was in Bishop this past weekend and didn't see or smell any smoke from the fires. It was pretty warm up the hill on Bishop Creek Saturday, with no breeze and alot of big, thirsty mosquitos, fishing wasn't all that hot either.Watch out for bears too. They've been coming down the canyon searching for food.

Don:

Smoke up here was awful today: but has cleared a bit this afternoon. It was gorgeos and clear Saturday packing in, but Sunday we woke to multiple inversion layers and were smelling smoke all day. Some big clouds passing through from the south, but I don't know if they're thunderclouds/storms or just the smoke from the Yosemite Fire cycling south and then north again. Maybe a hint from dmatt about prevailing winds here??

I hope it clears, I miss seeing my boys (Tom, Basin, and HUmphries) in the morning!

As Moose mentioned the weekend was good for lack of smoke and on Sunday we had some T-storm action which continued to help; on Monday smoke moved into Mono and Inyo County from the Telegraph Fire in Yosemite; Today (Tues) the wind has become more southerly so some of that smoke has been pushed northward; right now it looks like those winds will stay southerly assisting with the smoke and haze through Thursday; however, any wind change combined with flare ups with that fire will adversely effect our area.
