Is it possible to safely leave motorcycle gear somewhere at the campground or at the store, ie: Riding boots, pants, jacket and helmet?

I've left my gear in a bag strapped to the back of my motorcycle and nothing has happened to it yet on multiple trips up to the Portal...

I have had other thing(s) disappear from the top of my car when I walked away for a while.

I guess I'd have to say I was unlucky in the second situation.

or ask someone that's camping there and is going to be there while you're gone to watch it for you until you return
