According to SPOTS he should be passing Lone Pine Lake. Its 8:26PM or so. He has about 45 mins left for his 48 hours. Lots of time left.

I've been following DUG's progress, finding it very interesting to "go along" with him from my computer. It looks like he really ran into some cold in the Trail Crest/Trail Camp area. From the temps and winds posted at the White Mtn summit weather site (and using a wind chill calculator I found on the net) he was experiencing temps from 10 to -3 degrees. A bit cool for my blood! Hope he makes it out without becoming a DUG-sicle!

His last post was at 8:45 PM, just 800' vertical from Whitney Portal. I am sure he completed the trip in under 48 hours (he started at 11 PM Friday. But with that little sleep, I am wondering how much he can remember.

FYI - We started at midnight,so my 9:20 finish put me under 46 hours. smile On our way to Bakersfield to take my brother to his car. Full trip report after I get home and sleep. One thing though, there is a GOOD reason the trail over Colby is so lightly used!............DUG
