I hope it's OK for me to post about the Grand Canyon here. I'm thinking this group is the best source for information on hiking just about anywhere in the West. Plus, I could not find a message board for hiking in the Grand Canyon.
I've hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim-to-rim (i.e. South-North-South) 3 times. We do it in two days. I've always done the trip in October (which is an awesome time of year to do it).
I'm planning a trip in the Spring and we're considering a doing R2R2R in 24 hours. The catch is I'm wondering how early in Spring the North Kaibab is passable (without having to use any snow equipment, etc.) I know this may mostly be dependent upon what type of winter the area sees. However, I'm just looking for a ballpark date.
If you you have any info to share, please do. I've only done a cursory search online and haven't even hit the books yet. I'm sure there must be info for this out there somewhere. However, none of it may be as good as I find within this community. Thanks....
