How can it be considered a pissing match until Richard or I chime in or the Queen Bees have a say? smile

There was a thread recently about this message board having less activity and less posts. This particular thread here is probably as good an explantion as any why that is the case.

How about just sharing information and facts without the lectures?

In other words, without any human interaction, interpretation, or personal experiences.

Sounds like you want a guidebook. There are plenty of those. Only facts, only information, no interactions at all.

Others prefer other things.

It is, however.......disingenuous.......to cite a discussion about a reduction in traffic dues to technical issues, and use that as evidence that people are put off by the discussions.

It might also be the phenomenon we see every year at this time, where, because very few people plan on, or actually do, climb the mountain, they are also not thinking about the mountain, and so, don't post. It was only a couple of years back when this time of the year saw no posts for days at a time, routinely.

But, hey, this is a great idea! If interactively posting disuades people from climbing this incredibly over-utilized mountain, that would be GREAT! We should offer our services to the USFS!! smile

Speaking of which, the analysis of the Avalanche Gulch fatality is somewhat on point:

Now, who is being disingenuous? You should learn not to put words in other people’s mouth. Can a guidebook give you updates about current conditions or provide recent trip reports and pictures?

The original posts by s8weasels asked a very simple question, which he reiterated again later: where can one rent snow shoes and crampon in the LA area? It’s a fairly simple question.

I am certainly put off by your, and certain other posters, constant need to express their opinion. Other people in the thread I mentioned talked about "negativity and trash talk" on this board as well.
