Close to home for me right now. A close friend's son is attempting to be the youngest to do the seven summits. He has completed five already and is in Nepal for a climb of Nuptse. Here is his blog. http://www.jordanromero.com/weblog/

I like his style. Nuptse will be a rather challenging introduction to 8000m climbing!
Best of luck in achieving the goal!!!!!

Nuptse isn't one of the 7 summits though - and isn't even 8,000 meters. Nuptse I stands at 7,861 m (25,790 ft).
Is he training for Everest? Cho Oyu or Gasherbaum II would have been better choices and get him experience climbing above 8,000 meters too.
7 Summits are:
Denali (North America) Mt. Everest (Asia) Mt. Elbrus (Europe) Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa) Mt. Vinson (Antarctica) Aconcagua (South America) Carstensz Pyramid (Oceania)
"Getting to the summit is optional, getting down is mandatory." - Ed Viesturs
"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." - Sir Edmund Hillary

I stand corrected.
His blog states that the climb this year is in preparation for a climb of Everest next year. They'll be sharing Camps 1 & 2 with the rest of the crowds headed up Everest this Spring.

There is a great video of him going up the Whitney MR in a winter storm.
I can't quite figure out his math though as he says he has climbed 5 of the seven with 3 to go including Everest. And he is only 12 as of 07/08 ? How is this possible?

Perhaps he has climbed Mount Kosciuszko, the original Australian continental high point, before PNG got into the act.
Full Disclosure: I have climbed old Kos - but from 60 miles and 3000 feet below. Just before you hit the peak, you stroll across the road & the parking lot. On top there used to be a pole about 20' high, with a 6' radar target on top. Standing on the top of that makes you the highest person in Oz. Australia is a continent - peaks on odd islands shouldn't count! This so that I can say I have one of the seven.

I get the definite impression from Paul's April 6th blog that Paul and Karen are the ones on the Nuptse recon for Everest trip. Jordan is not on the climb.
Paul mentions that he hopes Jordan is studying and preparing for the Carstenz pyramid. (Back at Big Bear Lake, CA)
Jordan states that he was born in July 1996, thus he won't be 13 until this summer. Quite a remarkable resume for anyone, much less a pre-teen.

Trekker, 67, dies of altitude sickness in Nepal
KATMANDU (Kyodo) A Japanese trekker identified as Retsumi Ichihara, 67, died Thursday of altitude sickness in Nepal's Solukhumbu district, the home of Mount Everest, district police said Friday.
"The trekker was found dead in the bathroom of River Resort Guest House in Khumjung village, located at 3,700 meters above sea level, early Thursday morning," said officer Rohit Bhujel from the Namche Police Office, the post nearest to the guest house.
The postmortem report says he died of altitude sickness," Bhujel said over the telephone.
Ichihara was part of a group of 12 Japanese, accompanied by five Nepali guides, exploring the district's midrange areas.

That is correct his dad and friend are in Nepal scotting things out for Jordon's Everest bid. Jordon is climbing all 8 summits so that there is no controversy on whether he did the 7 or not. So he has Carstensz Pyramid, Vinson and Everest to go. He is the most focused kid his age I have ever seen.
