Hello everyone,
I need a favor from someone/anyone who is going to be hiking or around Whitney Portal and has a car that could give me a ride from Whitney Portal to Cottonwood Pass Trailhead on 6/13.
I would be willing to pay someone to take me up there. We can agree on a price that's reasonable for both of us. I would hitch a ride, but I am leary on the amount of time it would take me to get there. I know it's the weekend, and there's going to be plenty of traffic on the Portal Road, but am unsure of traffic on Horseshoe Meadows Road.
If you want to leave me a PM, a message on the board, or we can exchange numbers, that would be great. Any help in getting a ride would be greatly appreciated.
Here's the plan:
Friday 6/12 I'm leaving Corona at 12:00 p.m.(last day of teaching) and driving to Lone Pine, pick up my permit, and camp at Tuttle Creek BLM.
Saturday 6/13. Get up and drive my X-Terra to Whitney Portal and hopefully get a ride to Cottonwood Pass or New Army Pass Trailhead. Worse case scenario, I hitch.
Thanks,
Greg

Another possible for hire firm is Mammoth Shuttle. See post of 21/03/09, Transportation trailheads. Rolf Knutson posted this with his phone # (760) 934 6588. I tried a PM to him on April 2nd for some info, but he apparently doesn't use internet other than for his original post as I have never received an answer to my questions.

edit: sorry, but this is in Winter Access Forum, not this one
