I was camped below San Gorgonio when a 4.7 occurred. Since I was in my sleeping bag, with my head on the ground (well, on a pillow), it was really cool listening to the rumble way deep in the earth before the shaking occurred. And the shaking, of course, in a 4.7 is pretty minimal for us Californians who've been through many earthquakes, including some pretty bad ones with major damage and scores perishing. (Being a third-generation San Franciscan, my life was most definitely shaped by the 1906 earthquake, long before I was born, but that is another story.)
