I went on the New Army Pass on June 10th, there was a little snow on the trail, I am wondering how is the Army pass, is it doable w/o crampons (i might get an ice axe..)????

Below is a picture of Old Army Pass taken on 6.7.09. There were cornices with large overhangs as well as the two chutes to the right of the pass.

This is Army pass. Is the small curve running along the left side the trail???? It seems you need crampons...!

Neew army pass had a small section without snow which I climbed through rocks. I think It will be easier for anyone without crampons and ace axes..!
