I plan on taking my 11 year old boy scout on the Panoramic Trail in Yosemite and would like to park my vehicle at Glacier Point near the trail head on a Friday and then shuttle up to pick it up on a Saturday. Does anyone know if there is overnight parking up there?

Call the park info and ask. But I would think it should be ok, since that trailhead is one of their permitted quota trails.

Panorama Trail

The link doesn't address overnight parking, but you can call 209-372-0200.

Beautiful hike.

Have fun.

We parked there for five nights on a hike through Southern Yosemite - originating at bridalveil campground and terminating at glacier point (a few years back).

Yes, there is a large parking lot and overnight parking is fine. It's a major trailhead for the Panoramic Trail and others. We went from there over to Half Dome and back for a few days last year. One word of advice. If you spend a night at Little Yosemite Valley, try to be closer to the river. Due to its overuse, there is a 2 to 3 inch layer of dust on the ground at LYV and you will be hard pressed not to get covered by it. Also, do not, even for ten seconds, leave your bear box door open, especially in the dark. We had a huge bear mosey in at 5:30 a.m. in the dark and help himself to our bear box and all its delights. We were standing 15 feet away and he ignored us. We didn't want to wake up the whole camp, so we said hello to the nice bear and he slowly walked away with a bag of our food in his humongous mouth.

I love this Board. Thank you. I also appreciate the reference to the Yosemite Board which was also very helpful. I now have all the information I need.

Happy trails.
