I just got a couple of new books on SD "local" type hikes... I can look for something tonight. Whatcha Gals think?

Yes....I even have an extra permit wink

Maybe we could all do something shorter on the 12th. I'll leave it for you and SoCal to figure out.

**If SoCalgirl posts a list - we will default to decisions based upon that - but if not than I pose this question...**

Is anyone interested in doing a early morning walk up either Iron Mountain, Mnt Woodson or Cowles Mountain? (Saturday - June 27)

If no one bites, then I'll be at Iron @ 7:00AM for a solo.
Iron Mountain
(P.s. - the above is a great webpage for finding local hikes)

Hi ladies!!! I am new to this forum but am looking to join up on some friendly San Diego training. I am married but do not have kids other than my big lug of a dog smile. I am in shape and am up for anything. My schedule as a nurse is a little bit crazy but I would love to do some hiking. I have done lots around San Diego, San Jacinto twice, Yosemite, Zion, and Bryce. All very amazing. I am looking to do Gorgonio maybe next week or C2C sometime soon and hopefully Whitney. Do you all have permits for whitney? Let me know if I can join you all!!!

Cld5N... we're always happy to have more gals to hike with... we're all trying to coordinate schedules right now but as soon as we get that all down we'll be doing some stuff!!!

Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll be getting together down here in San Diego/SoCal area for some girl time!!! Keep tabs on the board here so that you can join in!!!

Dear Ladies,

Before I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, I lived in Rancho Bernardo for eight years and hiked every mountain around. My favorites were Woodson and Iron Mountains. I ran into many Whitney hikers working out on those two mountains while I was doing what I could to stay in shape for Whitney.

While doing the hikes, I also set out to map every mountain trail I could find in San Diego County.

Here is a link to my trail map for Iron Mountain:

And here is one for Woodson Mountain:

Enjoy your workouts! I hope the maps help, especially if you want to try out new summit routes.

Wayne, Thanks, I just printed those out and will use them this weekend. Thanks for doing all the leg work.

So did anyone do any hiking last weekend? I went to Big Bear and hiked the course for the Mountain bike race that was on Sunday. It was a 9 mile course, pretty easy but a slow pace because my friend was feeling a bit under the weather. I wish we could of done more but Sunday was all about the race. Wow mountain biking is brutal.

So I plan on doing Iron Mountain on Friday if anyone wants to join. I think most have Friday off and this would leave Saturday for all the BBQ. Let me know if anyone wants to join.

I have not done it yet so if you have, is it better to get an early start to beat the heat. I am thinking something like 7 or 8 am.
