Speaking of campsites...

I am taking my brother in law up whitney for his first time this weekend. We will be hiking in on Friday morning. I would like to camp around upper boyscout.

Last year I camped near the east side of the lake on the slabs.

Any suggestions on the best sites in the area?

Thank y'much

Brady

this is UBSL at 7am. as you can see there is not a lot of camping space to the West and Sw and Nw. It is just lake.
But as I remember. NE of the lake, near the trail to Mt. Russell there is plenty of space. Also along the approach, which in winter time, is blessed with wind-block rock walls, you can find many sites. It should not be a problem in Sep/Oct. Just pick your little place! Winter is a differant story, the good sites
are gone by 2pm...

cheers, Mark
