Hi All,
Thanks for all the great info on this site. The sharing of your collective wisdom and experience has been greatly appreciated. I've been lurking for months now in anticipation of going up the MR with my buddy (a more attractive solution to mid-life malaise than a Ferrari or a girlfriend). Game day is Monday and we'll be accompanied by one of the fine staff from SMI (thanks Kurt). We are a couple of middle aged suburbanites from metro Detroit (!) and we are totally psyched for this. We are truly respectful of this challenge and we have been careful not to underestimate the risks. We've been training for quite a while now and we have a couple days of easy acclimatization hikes (Mosquito Flat and Horseshoe Meadow) before we start. If any of you will be on the MR between Monday and Wednesday and you see a couple of old guys making their way up please say hello. Good climbing to all!

Sounds good tomcat. I have a red Gregory Baltoro pack and I'll probably be wearing my Michigan baseball cap.

I'll be in Horseshoe Meadows (Cottonwood Lakes, Trail Peak perhaps) Sunday and Monday, sporting my Wolverine colors as well! Hope to see you there.

Climbed Sharknose Ridge today from over Mulkey Pass.
We got rain and lightning at the middle of the day.
