We came up Sunday late afternoon around 430 and hiked to Outpost for the night.
Left yesterday around 730am from Outpost, took no shortcuts and arrived at Trail camp around 10 to pump water and left around 10:45 for Trail Crest. Made it there around 12:30. A few sections it felt good to have crampons or microspikes and was nice to have an ice axe. From crest to summit there were a few sections of snow but nothing too bad especially since it was soft in the sun. Rest of the snow was hard packed on the other side. I made it to the summit around 2:40 and started down at 3:10. Back to Trail camp from just before trail crest via the chute. Got back to Trail Camp at 5:15. Took the shortcut back to Outpost this time noticing the numerous postholes. Luckily the snow had frozen so it was smooth sailing for us. About 6:15 got to the chute above mirror lake. Made the mistake of blazing a new trail down it in the dark and the first 20 meters or so were pretty sketchy, was a bad idea. But made it down to Outpost by 7... All in all a good, unrushed day.
Thoughts go out to Wade hope he made it back down the backside.
