Thanks, Richard, for starting this thread and keeping it current... it's really nice to have everyone's photo albums so conveniently located.

For some reason I was unable to PM you. Could you add my Photo Album link to the ones listed here?

Although this trip was done in 2009, this half hour video of two city boy's first outdoor climbing of the Mountaineer's Route is entertaining and shows the route well.

So webshots is changing it's webpages and are now going to be charging for posting. Might be a good time to change who I post with.

Who has a recommendation? I am looking for free if possible, but easy of upload and sharing is a big consideration.

Hi Bob had this happen some years ago as did others ,free hosting sites are just that ,I say never trust any of this cloud or other services They may be great today but today in the internet world is just that.
Mattewr of fact I am in Sacramento the last few days at meetings about the internet and trends . Seems to come down to the age old problem show me the money. Thanks Doug

When Webshots began its transition, did you get an email of the change? I did, and about a week later went to the website and took them up on their offer of creating a ZIP file. That creation process took a few hours, and when I rec'd an email the process was complete, I downloaded the file. I had lots of pictures on Webshots, and as best as I can tell, a copy of them are in the Zip file.

As for freebie photo sites - if Picasa hasn't been mentioned already, consider checking it out. It's owned by Google, and if you already use Gmail, then you probably already have an account even if you're not aware of it. When I got my smartphone, I got a 'droid, and since Google writes the Android OS, I found - rather by accident - that I could set my background to any picture stored on Google's website.

Personally, of late most of the photos I wish to share are on Facebook. I create an album, provide descriptions, mark the visibility level as "Public" and provide a public link to the album, which allows non-Facebook users, as well as non-Facebook "Friends" to see the photos. A slightly different approach, but it works for me.

Kevin, yeh, got the zip files, did not get any video files that I can find, all of the albums were dumped together. All info about the albums, where, dates etc is not part of the zip file.

Richard's PM box is full, so posting into the thread with this link update for me.

The majority of my Sierra images are now in Flickr - best way to find them is my albums page, although you do have to scroll down the album list to get to the Sierra albums
