JayD, just wanted to add to the deserved chorus of appreciation for your captioned photo log. I think it is one of the nicest I have seen; even beyond the special conditions, you captured so much of the feel of the trail at this time of year with beautiful photos, plus a narrative that really gives a sense of your experience. Maybe don't be so quick to return to your lurkdom in the future?

Hi Thanks Jay for the photos and the trip report that says it all , we could of .... Now we have had a fast storm move in and out over night some new snow, very cold system and we got more than the North end of the Valley. The Inyo's are covered down to about the 7500' level which is rare for this time of the year.

Look at the photos and add this new snow onto the old snow and high winds mixing it up ,Crampons? I don't know but take a jacket and snacks because it will be a long trip if you don't know the area well, BE safe, hope everyone had a great Holiday Thanks Doug

Great pics Jay! Quite a difference from my trip up the MR in balmy mid-September. The captions were especially helpful since I still don't have much of a handle on the MMWT. The most impressive part of your trip was that you had the sense to turn around before summiting due to the time. Not everyone is savvy enough to do that. You had a great trip and you'll return to fight the good fight another day. Nicely done.

Bee, this one brought a smile to my face...

Thanks for the photos Jay. That wasnt too hard was it? Keep the photos coming. Even if you don't want to post, we've got the list of links at the top of the forum so we can view them.

(I didn't recognize you in the Trail Crest photo. You look like a bandito in that one. smile )

Many thanks for posting the pictures!!!
All the captions made for a very well documented climb.

Hope to see more of your pictures in the future!
