'Tis the season, and all that. I'm sure everyone is diligently preparing that wish list for Santa, so why not a thread to compare those wish lists?
For me, I'm hoping for a new lightweight 20-degree sleeping bag and a new set of Black Diamond trekking poles - to replace the pair Delta ruined in August! If I've been really good, I may get a framed print of a snowy Whitney for my office at home.
I just finished shopping for my wife and daughter, and God how I love them! They make it so easy for me! REI, REI and more REI! Hiking pants, hiking shirts, Camelbaks, wicking socks and shirts, upgraded trekking poles and daypacks, new headlamps . . .

Hey Bulldog34, Great idea. I'm wishing for a marmot 0 d. down woman’s sleeping bag, crampons and ice axe. Just a small list. I haven't even started shopping for my family. I wish they liked REI or even Hiking.
Get up! Get moving! That is when life begins.

Let's see...
I already have my own "REI" store in my garage! If they got it, so do I. For the last couple of years, my REI dividend is greater than my tax refund. Well, maybe not this year since times have been a little tough and spent way less.
Santa: Gimme ammo for my Savage .270 and Marlin .22 and Mossberg JIC, .45 cal for my pistola, and 9mm for my Beretta and Ruger so I can feast on turkey, venison and feral pig to go with our chickweed and miner's lettuce! Also, I need 200# more of weights for our gym.
For my friends: Mt. Whitney permits for 2010.
Journey well...

No worries, Go Bears. I don't shoot bears and I am a lousy shot.

You've got more firepower than my entire block, and I'm in Georgia where the only gun law is "two to the chest and one to the head", or it's a misdemeanor citation. You must have spent half your waking life wallowing through paperwork and red tape to have all that in the Golden State. I agree though, a Marlin .22 long is so much fun! So's a Glock 19, by the way. And a Remington 12 gauge police pump. And . . . . . . And you don't need more weights for the gym. Use the arsenal and duct tape.

2 to the chest? My, Georgia gun laws have really changed! Been around guns since I was 10. The paperwork and the red tape is no problem. The 10-day wait is worth it. Builds up the anxiety. "Almost" like buying a new car, but with a different kind of "new" smell. For the next birthday, I am considering a Glock, a crossbow and another compound bow. Yes, I love that Marlin. Easier on the budget since I can purchase a box of 525 Remington LRs for around $20 here in the Golden State. It's the unleaded .270 Winnies I need more of if I am to hunt the feral pigs and dear that inhabit our area.

Props to Glock, bro. I've had my 19 for about seventeen years and only had a couple of issues. I love the safe action (safety built into the trigger) and lack of double-action hammer. You'll never fumble with the first round, which is the one that counts the most.
I'm fortunate in that I live 6 miles from their headquarters plant in Smyrna. The two problems I've ever had in all those years, I've just walked it in to them and it's been corrected on the spot. You should see their indoor range, by the way, which is open to anyone walking in with their product. They really make a quality firearm. I think Santa carries one.
And once again, it's amazing how a thread on this board can morph . . .

I will be taking delivery of my latest addition to my California armory on PEARL HARBOR DAY. It's an over/under 12 gauge trap gun, been shooting trap since July with a Mossberg 500 pump, sometimes scoring better than the $3500 gun owners, they don't like me.................steve p.s., it's actually a 'field gun', fully capable of hunting with, not a trap-specific gun.

When I get a little money, I buy books; and if any is left I buy food and clothes. Erasmus

My wife and I see a forseeable trip to the Peach State!? Yes, morph good.

Passinthru, you'll really enjoy shooting the O/U. Despite common trends I'm shooting a mod/imp setup and really enjoy it, short barrel to boot. 1964 Miroku, 95% shape, best firearm I've ever owned, well, most enjoyable.
Santa's robbed my wallet this past month/week. Splitboard new car new computer tons of new gear. I'm afraid Santa's gonna run out of toys before he gets to my house.

OMG! I'm with Go Bears. My wish for new hiking boots has just changed to full body armor. And camouflage wear.

Well if there are any left I hope it's a down bag. My old (allegedly) +20 synthetic is way too cold. Toes are uncomfortable in the mid-30s now! Plus with adding a little backpacking to the activities I like the size.

Well, hello, Dances with Koyotes! You should know me better than that! You don't need armor. You need coyote repellent! Maybe rattlesnake repellent, too. Then again, full body armor along with a 20-25 pound pack would be a great workout in the woods! As much hiking as you do, I hope Santa brings you an extra pair. Happy holidays, Kandy! Have fun.

Too bad they aren't purple. Hook 'em Horns (as in TCU Horned Frogs)! No, I am not a TCU alum. Blemish time for them moose puppies!
In karate, I can use these in lieu of Okinawan sai or kama. Even nunchaku, too (just need some utility cord; no carabiners). Just have to watch out for the free end swinging around. You can do serious damage with these to one's self and others. Ouch.

Since I already own 3 handguns, 2002 Smith & Wesson SW99 .40, 2008 Glock 30SF .45, and 2008 Browning Buckmark .22, with about 2500 rounds for each (had to stock up when Obama got elected). And I bought TONS of hiking gear already this year...(can't wait to see my REI dividend). I don't really have a list for myself, but I would like Santa to bring happiness and good health to all of my WPSMB friends out there. Take care everyone and Happy Holidays! Stacy

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to post this. I was thinking about you yesterday morning...was sure you must have ordered them already...and then I saw you post them yesterday. Word of advice on ice climbing...when your crampons bounce off the ice, take a second to aim that second kick...I didn't and plunged the front points into my calf. Pink ice ain't nice!
Now that you have these beauties, I hope Santa brings you plastic ice.
