Bill Carr and I wanted to thank all who helped Natalie after her long tumble down the Baldy Bowl. She and Ian told us of all the trials and tribulations in caring for her and keeping her warm up there. She ended up staying tonight in the burn unit at County USC for the abrasions suffered in her slide down the ice -( hopefully, this incident will not inspire her to take up the luge) She'll be released tomorrow a bit worse for wear but OK. Once again We can't thank you all enough for sticking out the cold and darkness to help her out - Kudos to you all - Judy Goss (Nat's Mom)
PS Thank you for making our Christmas Merrier

Judy: I was so relieved to hear that Natalie is recovering. Thanks for the update.

Here is my report about a hair-raising day on Mt. Baldy.

Hi It is a very good Christmas . I think the slip and long tumble down the bowl puts everyone aware how fast the accidents can happen and the amount of effort it takes to get someone down and to the hospital, these are the falls we talk about above Trail camp when people take the chute and get out of control .Add many miles and the the Hospital may be the same one that Natalie is in, maybe after a night on the mountain. Again Thanks Doug

Merry Christmas everyone!

So glad to hear Natalie will be released today and a great Christmas gift for Judy & Bill and their families. I received a text from Ian last night wishing everyone a "special and well deserved holiday". The story (online version referenced from Sam) was in the printed version of the Daily Bulletin yesterday (12/24) - I'll get a snapshot of it.

Sam, great story and blog post.

I probably would have posted only those two had there been different circumstances smile

Norma, that picture is incredible, period.

Have a great HoliDAY, everyone!!

MC's TR & pix

Thank you all for coming out to climb Baldy on the 23rd. It was a memorable day and we made a difference. For me, it was a final highlight for 2009. Now Dave and I are off to ski Mt. Bachelor for the New Year weekend. Need to start highlights for 2010... smile
