Tioga Pass will NOT open over the memorial day weekend. The avalanche threat is to high. So, the NFS will not commit to an opening day, but I suspect now maybe the weekend of June 5/6.

Hi Dennis....That does not surprise me...we woke up to a few inches of new snow here in Tahoe, it is of course beautiful! But it sure would be nice to get some warmer temps..almost June..light snow falling now. Drove over highway 88 on Monday to see a hugh snowpack up around the Kirkwood/Carson pass area..even some South facing slopes were still pretty well covered.
Have a nice weekend!

Bummer, looks like I'm driving around the long way to the south on Thursday. Thanks for the update.
