I am wondering if youguys have any suggestions of good campsites that are above 8500 ft that are located northof/closeto Lone Pine.

My brother will be coming down from Idaho late Tuesday night and I think it woud be easier to coordinate a meeting place (campsite) towards the north, rather than have him drive the extra distance to try to find us at Horseshoe Meadows.

Thanks for your comments!!

A this time, the South Fork of Bishop Creek drainage has nearly continuous snow coverage above about 10,500 feet. East facing, sunny slopes offer the best and driest campsites. The areas near the lakes that I explored were very wet. Conditions may vary in other canyons. Take a look at Moose Track photos of Pine Creek Canyon; looks snowy above Pine Lake. Little Lakes Valley, North of Bishop, still has significant snow coverage; trail head there is at 10,300. But the good news is the run-off is accelerating. L

Mosquito Flat, North Lake, Onion Valley, Grandview. There are several in the Tiago Pass area. Depends on how far north you want to go?

Here is a list of all the campgrounds in the Easte...r/toilet info.
