Hi At least one a day walk into the store and ask for permits and most times it is about 9 PM .The letter has the things you need to do to get your REAL PERMIT. Take time to read it. You need to know where to pick up the permit . It is NOT THE RANGER STATION IN TOWN, THE VFW OR THE STORE. The Visitor Center is located on the road to Death Valley, State Road 136 about 1 mile South of Town . Not located on 395 you need to turn onto the Death Valley road and it will be the large building with the silver roof that you can see from space. Thanks Doug

If Lone Pine Peak weren't in the way, you could see the Visitor Center from MW summit! grin

Hang in there, Doug! smile

That's not all people don't seem to read...we saw someone camping literally at the edge of Chicken Springs Lake last weekend AND..they had built a campfire.

Did you inform them of their error.... and take their picture for documentation in case of future problems.

Is the spigot at Trail Camp working yet? Or are they still fixing the plumbing on the bathrooms?

Hmmm...maybe Mo Nature can stop the leak by putting some kind of freeze goop on it.

I heard that it's ok to start without a permit -you can always get a post-start permit at the Starbucks (next to he restrooms)on Whitney summit.

Hey not everyone starts out a pro like most of the board here. Yes common sense does apply. Did you mention it or lecture it that is the question.
