I would appreciate any info those of you who have done Langley and Whitney can give me in comparing the difficulty level of Langley from the top of New Army Pass to Whitney from Trail Camp.

I have done Whitney multiple times, so I am familiar with the trail from Trail Camp. I have gone over New Army Pass, but never towards Langley. The altitude gain and mileage to Langley from the top of New Army seems similar to Whitney from Trail Camp. I know New Army drops down to Army Pass so I will have to deal with that on my way out. From what I have read and seen in photos, it looks like Langley may be more difficult due to the sand and scrambling, so it will take longer to summit from New Army than Whitney takes from Trail Camp. Is this a correct assessment?
Thanks for your help!
Brian

Having bagged both mountains on several occasions I tend to think of them both to be on the same level as far as physical effort required and even time required to summit (for summer ascents). As you know, the Whitney main trail is a walk up on a trail. Langley is mostly a walk up, but with some easy scrambling part-way up the summit "block". There must be a hundred different use trails on Langley though, so I often just pick one that seems like it is going where I want to be headed on the mountain.

But to answer your question, in my opinion they are nearly the same effort and time -- but that is because for me, the scrambling on Langley is short and easy, and probably even avoidable if one were to try to avoid it. The sand wasn't ever and issue for me since I just stayed on the use trails. Yes, there is the annoying, yet required dip from New Army Pass down to Old Army pass.

Please remember that the relative level of difficulty will be different for everyone.

The difference between the two is there are a lot more decisions which have to be made at Mt. Langley. Mt. Whitney is a trail which you follow; Mt. Langley, beyond 12,300', you have to choose your route to the summit. I've done Mt. Langley 3 times, all three times the route to the summit changed to reflect the experienced I gained on the last trip.

Harder or easier? It depends on your route on Langley. Local knowledge here makes a big difference. My last trip up the mountain took me 20 minutes less from the base of the mountain to summit than the previous trip just because having done it a few times.

Endless switchbacks or a long scree slog. Take your pick.
