Hi The Hero's Hike on Baldy is set for Sunday April 3 2016 .Last year the team WPSMB supported the project with the second most funds for a team and I think the most members. This is a great cause to engage with the returning young men and women serving our Country ,some are still active and others discharged. You will meet several on the Mountain as you climb and climb with family members supporting the Hero's . We also honored Shin on his summit hike number 400, and this year Patrick will do his century summit on this day. Please sign up and join the Team for the Hike. www.crowdrise.com/ClimbforHeroes

Hi Christine and Betsy will check, We may have Kurt offer free tents for a summit shelter, several from past storms came in this summer. Poles? No poles so will be a little hard to crawl in and out of.

Bump...April will be here sooner than you think. https://www.crowdrise.com/dougthompson1-ClimbforHeroesOn the right side of the web page click the "Set Up Your Climb for Heroes Fundraising Page" The "Sign Me Up to Climb" button is already selected. All you have to do now is click "Next Step". On the next page click "Join a Team". You will get a drop down menu to select a team. Choose WPSMB (or another team of your choice). Then click Next Step. At this point you can login with your Facebook account or click Sign Up to enter your information. Donate $100 and you not only help our country's Heroes but you get cool stuff (shirt, food and lots of goodies). You can donate as little or as much as you want. The $100 is just the minimum donation to get in on the goodies. Read more here: https://www.crowdrise.com/ClimbforHeroes

Hi everyone, I met Tim and Charlie on Mt. Baldy yesterday. Charlie looked super good shape and spirit. He is determined to be at the summit of MT. Everest this year after two years of setbacks from catastrophic earthquake in Nepal and massive avalanche with huge fatalities in base camp of Mt. Everest. Tim is enthusiastic about upcoming "Hike for Heroes" on Mt. Baldy. He has expressed his sincere appreciation of WPSMB's great support in last 3 years.
Our team "WPSMB" has reached 30% of fundraising goal as of today. We have about one month to go. Please contact all your friends, family members, relatives, company coworkers, or anybody you meet for take part in this good cause with team "WPSMB".

Shin, if you can get Richard P to hike with you on that day, I'll donate $100. He must make it to the top, however.
It's up to you Shin!!!

Hi Tanks everyone that has signed in for the hike , as last year I plan on making shirts for the WPSMB , so if you sign up I can get your names on the shirts and How would the right size sound???? So like James posted the easy way is click the link he posted Crowdwise was set up by maybe my brother???that just post he knew nothing about facebook on facebook.
We had breakfast with Charlie and Tim and sorry I forget joining in with us another hiker that helped in Mammoth. But if we still have snow /ice I think we could walk in a track the last 500-700 feet and avoid the very rocky section if it is snow covered. Like above trailcamp early season. Or we get AXMAN in the front.

Oh geez, not that Axeman guy! Hopefully the snow melts so we don't have to listen to him yammering all day...

I'm surprised I've received no messages from the organizers yet. Last year it seemed I got email from them every other day for three months.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Even though they were on a funky local website & donation system last year, there were weekly updates and thank yous and congrats and a countdown to the event. On the 18th of March last year I had received 12 emails from January to that point. I've only received one email from Crowdrise saying "Thanks for donating" this year---and even that email was more of an ad for how "You too can use Crowdrise for your fundraiser!"
But hey, it's a new, sleek, classy, cutting-edge fundraising website with pictures and stuff---and I've been entered to win 100,000 CrowdRise Impact Points! (I have absolutely no idea what that means in the real world, but I'm sure it's awesome!) So it must be working and generating a lot of buzz somewhere that I'm just not authorized (or have been deemed too old) to interface with or be aware of. Oh, to be young and hip again...

Hi I agree. SO James yes if everyone can get me the size they want I can order the correct size.
Not sure what the snow level will be but again I think we can make it a great day even if we just ride the lift up and down all day!!

Shirt sizes:

Doubt there will be any snow at all on hike day but a little would be fun!
Thanks Doug!
