Hey we had snow!! all that fresh was from the system last week , I guess about 3 feet in the Portal area /drift and may be 2 feet coverage, I plunged my pole down near the trailhead and it didn't hit bottom.
So we did go from point A to B and back , as always we only lost 1 , but was recovered by a nice person waiting for the other two we lost.
I am always amazed that when we hit the deep snow everyone keeps on trucking , the trench was at least 18" near the Portal and as we walked down the lower road had turned to slush.
Thanks everyone for making this another amazing day .

Photos at the link below. I have a filter on the camera and was oblivious that it was doing its own thing so they're cultivating that Blue Hawaii vibe.

Not lost, was just walking back to Lone Pine. I was doing some snow graffiti for my granddaughters got behind the group. Trailbud was enticed by Rosie to go to Bishop, and he forgot me. He’s like the stray cat that found wet cat food up the street.

Thanks for handling the book. Good question!!!!!

I'll probably see you for the 'Wild West Marathon." May 4th......

As for the Heroes climb, I may have to make a donation since I'll be at a fundraiser for Thoroughbreds who no longer compete. The charity is "Win, Place, Home" located in Santa Clarita.

take care....good seeing you.

I was really bummed out when I realized that circumstances forced me to return home on Saturday. Still, I was able to talk with Doug for a few minutes and see several other people.

Next hike?

Sorry, that's a bummer. But yes, obviously the Heroes Hike in May, but I'm thinking that we should have a flower hike given the conditions next month. We were also talking about doing Winnedumah, so perhaps a combo weekend. Stay tuned...
