I think I'm registered and donated...? When I hit "purchase"after entering my payment info it went to a "404 ERROR" message, but I have the email confirmation on the registration and donation. I hope it went through...

Same thing. Bottom line is the registration and donation went thru.

Is there a place to charge CrowdRise for the convoluted effort to sign up and donate???

James I registered Cayden on Friday,he isn't on the list also I ordered the art work for the shirts. Will need a correct list of names, for example Betsy was showing twice ,no Jack that looks like it was corrected.
My vote for next year is reach out to Tim and set aside 30-40 entries and skip crowdfail.

The DBT is dry all the way to the summit except 10 yards long section with very thin snow just below the summit. It will be gone within a day.
Snow is still there on the slopes but the trail is dry.

Various weather sites are showing some less than thong friendly weather this weekend. In particular Mountain-Forecast.com is predicting high winds and near freezing above 9000'. They tend to be a bit pessimistic usually but might it still be a tad nippy. High winds will shut down the ski lifts, for those of you wanting to shorten the hike.

I was trying to figure out the best way to word a response, but they just did...

Quote:
CLIMB for HEROES

SUNDAY 05/19/19
MOUNT BALDY, CA

The REAL Weather Report for Climb for Heroes
as of 05/14/19 at 16:30:00 PDT:

BONE DRY with NO RAIN
Summit Temp - mid 30's and minimal winds 20 mph
Base Camp Temp - mid 40's with clear skies

Your iPhone weather app can only tell you so much about Sunday. Possible spotty rain and potential wind in California translates to PANIC. There may be possible rain before you head up Mt. Baldy Road. If you are driving up under a sprinkling sky on Sunday, please keep going......once you hit our beautiful mountain, the weather can change completely. TEAM THP weather gods have some serious weather predicting skills in the mountains.....but just so that you will stop emailing/texting/messaging us about the weather, here is some advice to alleviate your worries and make Sunday the best day of your life.

First words of advice: People and dogs can handle a lil' cold weather. We've done it, our injured community has done it, and you can do it. However, failing to prepare is preparing to fail, so to make it the best day of your life please read on....

• The trail is literally perfect. We have been up and down the trail (with Armor - THP's furry four legged mascot ) multiple times this last month. We know without a doubt that the trail is superb as we have been grooming it with our mountain guide team for the past 3 weeks.
• If you are only hiking to Camp 3 (aka the Coors Light camp) or lower, sneakers will get you there no problem. Grab a couple layers and a beanie for the early morning chills while at our basecamp.
• If you have your sights on Camp 4 (High Camp) or the Summit, bring a pair of gloves, a light jacket, sunscreen and definitely a warm beanie just in case. Although not mandatory, trekking poles and sturdy boots will make your last push to high camp and the top that much easier. Above Camp 3 you will be 9,000+ feet in elevation and the temperature will drop quicker, especially if some clouds roll in. Adding a layer at Camp 3 to get you to High Camp and the Summit will make your day more enjoyable.
• If you know you are going for the Summit, you will need a strong will and a positive outlook. It might be chilly, but the view from the top is worth every single step.

Team THP, who are in our local mountains every weekend and have climbed the biggest mountains all over the world (humble reminder so that you know you're in good hands), will be monitoring the weather and will deliver updates as things change. We know that we will deliver a great day on the mountain and you will leave happy, healthy, and fulfilled if you come prepared and with a good attitude.

Please click HERE to read the "What to bring? Where to go? What time to get there?" and "fundraising minimums? team members?" information that was sent last week.

We can't wait to see you May 19th on Mount Baldy! Ignore your iPhone weather App. We will update you on Friday with REAL information from real mountain gurus smile

Shin,

Great photos thanks for capturing the day. Even though it was a cancelled (that will hopefully be rescheduled), it was a really fun and inspirational day.

Thanks to JJ and Tim for their hard work and dedication. And for making what had to be a very tough call on cancelling. It was a wise decision. And to Doug for his usual kindness and generosity (the t-shirts are really nice!). And to all of our WPSMB group that came out in the rain and snow to enjoy the mountains, each other's company and to honor our country's Heroes!

"THE COMEBACK TOUR HAS LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE! REGISTER TODAY!"

However, "Tickets for this event are currently unavailable."

People are invited to register but cannot (so far).

I got through registration after doing exactly the same thing ten times. However, even though I chose to join the WPSMB team, I got this result:

"You just successfully created your fundraiser on CrowdRise. So awesome." No, not awesome.

Uh-oh. I just said "awesome." Now I'm one of them.

I like to go on Crowdfail and register a few times every day , Most days it snows or the wind blows and then something breaks or we get a call about the fish in the pond or did you see the guy with the blue jacket and he had some snacks , he isn't back yet , he was going to Mount Sunflower and got lost near Kanarado or was it Ruelton..Last call he said he couldn't tell which peak it was and was just going to climb all the local mountains, but then the dust came .

I honestly don't know how many times Cayden and I registered , and that Myles guy I don't see how he could of registered.

Water is on now at the Portal. Will try to get to the Hike on the 23 rd , will be one of those drive down in the morning and back same day , but if traffic is lite I can nap and the bumps have always worked!

Say, that would make an arresting first paragraph for One Night at the Portal. We'll turn it into a noir thriller.

Thanks, Doug!
