WP Friends,

My buddy and I will be doing the High Sierra Trail in about a month, but we're in a bit of a pickle trying to find transportation from Visalia to Crescent Meadows. (The Sequoia Shuttle is shut down for the 2020 season.)

Already looked into East Side Sierra Shuttle, but they're asking for my first born as payment.

Anyone know anyone in the Visalia / Tulare area who might be up for this gig? We will pay cold, hard, cash and can regale whomever it is with jokes and stories. Or we can just shut the hell up. Whichever is preferred.

Thank you for your assistance!
Nathan

Nathan,
I have never used them but wonder if there is an Uber or Lyft person in that area up to the task.

Hi Nathan,

I’m trying to do the same over the first week of July and will probably uber/Lyft....right now the estimate is 50-75$, which is pretty remarkable given what a 25min shuttle from WP down to lone pine costs (plus you are paying for the whole car rather than per person.

Even if you have a car to leave at each trail end, it’s still attractive as it cuts 3-3.5hrs off your drive home by not having to go back up to crescent meadow

Agreed! Our plan is to drop a car at WP and then take a rental to Visalia and drop it there. Seems to be the most economical and convenient. Still looking for a lift from Visalia into the park. Let me know what you come up with. We may follow your lead!
