Anyone planning on driving from Whitney Portal to Lone Pine during the early morning of Saturday, 8-19-06?
My son and I are going to hike the JMT starting from Yosemite Valley on Sunday, so we're leaving our car at the Portal. I'm looking for a ride from Whitney Portal down to Lone Pine. (We're catching a bus from Lone Pine to Yosemite Valley to start the hike.) Our Lone Pine bus leaves at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning, 8-19-06, so we're looking for a lift anytime early Saturday morning (from 1 AM until about 7:30 AM). If anyone's going that way at that time, thanks in advance! Tommy

Getting a ride that early could be tough. Maybe you could find a place to leave the car down in Lone Pine. I think it would be easier to get a ride down from the Portal at the end of your hike -- you would be coming out in the afternoon or evening.
