I have a single permit for overnight for the NF Lone Pine Creek that I will not be using on Sunday the 12th. Contact me and I can arrange to release the permit.

My cousin and I will now be leaving from Horse Shoe Meadows and combining the New Army pass to Crabtree pass to Whitney trail with the circumnavigation route Whitney to Artic lake to Russel, to NF Lone Pine Creek to the Portal.
My plan is to take the Rockwell variation out of Horse Shoe Meadows over Cirque, bag Langley on the way to crabtree pass, climb Muir and Whitney on the way to Upper Boy Scout, Climb Russel and return via the NF to the Portal by Friday. I will post a trip report whe I get back.
If anyone will be hanging out a the portal in the afternoon on Friday the 17th we will be looking for a ride back to our car at Horse Shoe Meadows and we will gladly pay for the help.

The permits are non-transferable, you just need to contact the USFS to release as no one else will be able to use it. Good luck on your trip through Horseshoe Meadows, it is a beautiful area.

Scott,

Thanks for the info. I know that they are not transferable but I can easly release the permit at a set time so that the person who needs it can call right after that and the permit would be available. The people on this board are very helpfull and I wanted to give anyone here a chance to get this permit before it was released.
