Kurt: Do you want me to grab them? I'm heading down Thursday. I think they'll fit inside the TOF. -L

Wow, I was just looking at that photo inside the hut, that is quite a smorgasbord for a day hike. You guys know how to live well.

Hi Kurt,
Maybe I'm dense at the moment but I don't see where the clinic will be held (I'm talking about Thursday night, 2/7). Is it REI? Thanks.

Let me be the first to say that this was a terrific outing. Perfect weather, perfect snow for skiing and glissading, and great company. It was great meeting other folks from this board. Thanks for the beer Laura! I think Laura, Kurt, and Richard took a bunch of good pictures. I only took a few. If I have any good ones I'll be happy to share.

What do they say? The worst day on Baldy is better than the best day at work? Here I am...

I am planning a trip down south to O.C. (live in Vanc., WA) for March or April. Any chance of another hike like this within the next few months? I will definitely plan my trip around a future Baldy or any local mountain hike with "the WPSMB gang". Sounds like a great time on the mountain today! MC

Thanks for a great day on Baldy on Friday. That was one of the best days skiing on Baldy I've ever had! The snow conditions were perfect and the weather was great. Summit of Baldy. From left to right: Me, Mike, Richard, Bill, Steve, Patrick, and Laura Richard (above) and Steve (below) on perfect corn. The rest of my pics from the day are here. Thanks for sharing a great day everyone!

Thanks to all for a wonderful climb, and for your patience with my pace. It was great hiking with all of you and look forward to seeing you again.

Wish I saw this post a few days ago, I saw your group as I was glissading down the bowl! I left Manker at 5am, summit at 8:45, and back down before 11, conditions on the bowl were great that early, the snow was nice and hard. I was also glad that there was not as much wind as there usually is on Baldy. Well I hope I check the board closer for these things, glad to see Kurt gets to have some fun in So Cal!

Great Photos Kurt! Is it possible to download a few of them? I'm not familiar with smugmug. All I could find was a way to order prints.

Is it just me or are the thread participants full of themselves?

It was a great day out there. Thanks for letting a newbie tag along. I hope to travel with you all again. I'm having password issues with my FTP so my photos will have to go up later.

Is it just me or are the thread participants full of themselves? It is interesting how opinions and thoughts vary. My take on the "thread participants" can be summed up in one word. Inspirational. By hikers/climbers posting their TR's (describing conditions, weather, etc.) and pics, others are inspired. It is nice to share these types of trips with each other. This is "just my two cents".

Well, the only thing I'm full of right now is ibuprofen. I had a great time, and hope to be walking normally in another couple of days.

It looks like you all had a great time on Baldy!
Back to the original topic for a minute. Kurt, thanks again for a great presentation and thanks to A16 for hosting them. As usual you used some good humor mixed in with a lot of great advice. The Wag Bag demo is priceless.
Another thing I appreciate is how you support the USFS. I know a lot of us don't always agree with what they do (this deal of including day hikes on the North Fork in the lottery is nothing short of stupid IMHO). Even so I appreciate you explaining what it is they are trying to do to manage that area and you back up and support the USFS instead of talking badly about them. I long ago grew tired of hearing other guide service owners saying bad things about them. Every ranger I have met in the field has been a pretty nice guy.
Thanks again Kurt and I hope to see you on the trail this year.
