Whew! Having a difficult time finding transportation from Whitney Portal to Tuolumne without taking 3 buses and staying overnight in Bishop. My wife and I want to leave our car in Whitney and start our hike in Yosemite. Any suggestions? Thanks, janthony
We're trying to drop the car off at Whitney portal on Saturday the 26th (July) and get to tuolumne early enough in the day to take the shuttle down to the Valley floor that night. We want to start our hike on the 27th.
There is a really helpful guy that runs Mt. Whitney Shuttles. Here is his email: rwennis@lonepinetv.com You may be able to catch on with a group and make the trip/connections better than just using public transportation. It's worth a call.

We'll be picking up our Whitney permits on the 26th and going up to Mammoth for some high altitude hiking for the weekend. Our Whitney permit starts on the 28th.
