Finally had a chance to organize the photos. I ended up taking 130 pics. I chose 60 for a pictorial trip report and those are here. The remainder of the pics are here. I have the restricitions taken off both albums for a few weeks in case anyone wants to download full res images.

Just so you all know I was in my truck on my way Friday evening last week.Had a cooler full of goodies for everyone.Around Temecula my right front tire blew on my truck. As I was by the right fender getting ready to change my tire I heard a crash, looked up and saw a truck out of control coming right at me.I remember diving out of the way and thats all I remember.I woke up in the helicopter on my way to the hospital.Besides a concussion,my 4th now, some brain swelling, dislocated rt.shoulder, broken rt arm,2 broken ribs, cuts, bruises and scrapes I'm good to go.I guess I was lucky.I'm taking it easy this week to say the least. Today was my first day online to read about the hike and see the pictures.Looks like a blast!Laura didn't need me there to catch fish.I'm just glad you all had a good safe time.Next group hike I'm gonna make it if it kills me.

Next group hike I'm gonna make it if it kills me. Um, Thor, I'm just glad it didn't this time! What did we talk about in terms of staying OUT of hospitals?? They are not good places, my friend. I'm really glad you weren't killed by this schmoo but we have to stop this vicious cycle of massive ouchies! Get well soon, thinking of you! -L

Thor, Thank goodness your sense of humor wasn't damaged! Seriously, take it easy and get well. I imagine that, by time you're back in the mountains, Dead Mouse Lake's post-Moosie golden trout population will have recovered in time for you to pay them a visit! CaT

Jeff S. - bummer about work - seems to interfere with some of the best hikes - but there is always more time for Sierras
Thor - bummer and tragic news - I hope your recovery goes well - I guess it always could have been worse - but I am sure that is as close of a call as you want for awhile

Thor You mean, you had a helicopter in your possession, and you did not have them take you to Lone Pine????? You must have been seriously injured! Seriously, thank goodness you got out of that alive! Concussions can be very disorienting. I still have no memory of my skiing accident from years ago. I hope you recover quickly and completely! Ken

I can finally post my photos from the last two weeks now... man this week was nuts. Why is it that all the "emergencies" happen when I leave town? Anyway, thanks everyone for making the group hike so much fun. This is the best hiking group I have ever hiked with and I've hiked with many. Let's do it again soon. http://brentcoe.smugmug.com/gallery/6133322_itbMy

Sure seems like a nice trip for everyone. My Daughter Jessica delivered a baby boy (1st grandchild) during the night on Friday (26th)....followed on Saturday by my Son's Eagle Scout court of Honor (the 27th)....so I guess it is good I stayed home. I never would have lived it down...being gone during those two big family events. I thought of you all....during the day Saturday. I hope to be in on next years group hike...I hope there is one. The pictures were all very nice. I think I need to plan a trip next year to "slay the dragon". Here is the link to the baby pictures http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2254309780061435028vrPXYW

Kashcraft,
Congratulations! you must be so proud and how fortunate. I am sure I'm not alone when I say that I think your priorities are where they should be, with your family. Of course, you know your post is (half) useless without pix! We want pix!

Dragon Peak is above my level of hiking and climbing, but I was wondering if you guys took the same route that Snow Nymph and BobR took back in 2006 -- good route finding pictures in this set: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2192659_j35qh#P-1-15

within reason - when Bob got to the ridgline - I think they stayed on a high ridge route. I led via the the less scrambling off ridgeline - only in a couple places do you "need" to stay high - and I think the use line is fairly easy to follow - but maybe that is because I have seen it enough times now.
