Hey Everyone,

I'll be in So Cal giving slideshows at Adventure 16 stores very soon. I usually climb Mt. Baldy at least once while I'm in the area. If anybody wants to come I'll be going on Thursday October 23. Meet at the Manker Flats parking area at 6 AM. We've had some fun hikes here in the past.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Slideshow info is here.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the shows and on the hike soon!

Jeez..if you are within a distance to take Kurt up on this offer you should definitely do it!! Hiking with him and his friends is a blast. Video from a hike I took with them a couple years ago:

One of my best memories. Have fun..wish I could go..

Would loved to have checked out one of your slideshow presentations and a Baldy hike would have been icing on the cake! Won't be back down until early December. Next time... smile

Hi Kurt!

Count me in for the Baldy hike. Heading up to day-hike Whitney this weekend and figure by Thursday I'll be wishing I was back on the trail - perfect timing.

See you at the Solana Beach A16 show, too.

Hi Kurt,
I doubt I'll be able to make the hike this time, but I'll probably see you in Costa Mesa.

Kurt,

Thanks for the GREAT slideshow and commentary on Everest on Thursday night in Torrance! It was really amazing to see what qualifications and commitment you really need to summit that peak! Would love to hike Baldy with you on the 23rd but scheduling won't permit it this year...maybe next time! Thanks again! smile

I think this may end up being the first one that I miss. They've been great fun in the past!

Kurt,

What kind of pace do you expect to do? I just did the Ski Hut Trail to the top in 3 hours. Is that within reason for the group or would I hold people back? I hike Baldy a couple times a month so I don't need a reason to go to the top but it would be nice to meet you and other WPSBB folk.

burtw -- show up! Don't worry about the pace. Kurt can handle anything, but these hikes are not about speed records.

burtw - don't worry, the hike is all about getting out and having fun, the pace will be comfortable. I would recommend watching out for Alan though, I am quite a bit younger than he is and when we put on snowshoes a few years back, he left me in his dust blush

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll plan to be there. Now that that's settled, does anyone want to carpool? I will be going from downtown LA (3rd & Broadway) out the 10 to the 605 and the 210. I could meet anyone who's interested in carpooling somewhere along the way. (Wasn't that a pop song a while back?)

Burt (and others),

Sorry for the delayed response. I was out rock climbing in Joshua Tree all weekend.

As others have said don't worry about the pace. We're going to go have fun and keep a comfortable pace. I always start early so I can have plenty of time to get down and travel to Costa Mesa where I'll be giving my slideshow that evening. We like to have a good time on these hikes!

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Can someone bang on my window and make sure I'm awake? Red and Black Mini.

I'll be getting paid to hike, so I want to thank those who are remaining at work to pay their taxes. smile..................DUG
