This Harrier pilot is the one whom you met back in June. You know, the one that says you look like Willam Defoe. ;o)

Holy cow! They sold 42 already? I just read they were trying to sell Red Rocks to the oil and gas industry - did they manage to include some states as a sweetener? If so, which ones?!

Hi Ok we didn't get a picture but several weeks ago Laura and I had finished lunch and established the detailed plan for the hike to Boundary , the plan that missed the weather, map ,GPS way points, a spot beacon and a meeting place and start time. Also out of the 4 sides to reach the summit and the many roads, that was not worried out either. I thought we were going hiking not going planning.

We heard jets overhead and flying fast, we started to watch as they twisted and turned in a dog fight fashion over town. This went on for several passes then they turn to the sky almost out of sight the upper craft turns and stalls to "attact" the other plane, the trick worked so well the stalled craft floated down thousands of feet out of power or control looking like a leaf falling to the ground twisting and spinning, then the noise starts as the craft tries to power into control and stop the free fall . It looked like town was going to get some recycle material but the power and luck pulled the plane back to a controled flight. A photo of the free fall would have made for great stories.

The trip to Boundary Peak or somewhere that day was another example of when things start heading downhill, it's a true test of resolve how one adjusts and moves forward the group would make any hike into "a walk in the park" very proud to be with them on that journey . Thanks Doug

This looks photoshopped to me. There is no sign of the Starbucks that should have been on the summit!

Great photos.

I noticed something odd in the 4th pic down from the top. There are two white streaks that appear to be comming of the ridge @ bottom left center. What the heck is that!

Probably on the window the pics are taken through.

Doug, the VX-9 pilot who took these photos is the one that I introduced to you back this summer.

Also, both of these pilots climbed MT Whitney with me via the MR as a dayhike this past June. They absolutely fell in love with the mountain.

Those lines are the door to the Bermuda Triangle.
Splains lots of mysteries especially how Laura can do 10K every week and tomcat can do every weekend for 2 years.

Technically it was not every weekend - I missed the weekend before Christmas last year; but was able to hike during the week including one snow shoetrip around South Lake with Moose Tracks on Christmas day. Thankfully we did not run into naked fishing guy that trip. But we did get pictures of dogsled and his huskies.

promises to be a slow day today - the mountains are calling

Argh for naked fishing guy!

This weekend may be the 'easy' way to 10K, but I WILL get up there! Woohoo!
