So, is that first link to the test site, or just a single snapshot?

I do agree that once the unit is upstairs and not looking through a widow frame a few feet in front of the camera, it will be great!

That "640x480" link is the webcam view I'll put on the main WhitneyPortalStore.com front page once the camera gets moved. It is the medium-sized ( ~115 Kb ) image of the latest snapshot taken.

Once you link to the page, you have to refresh it every 10 minutes to see the latest picture. I need to add code to the page to auto-refresh.

The small picture above is a single snapshot (the 4th taken each day). I need to send Doug a new script to install so the small picture can also be refreshed, and also to compress all the uploaded pictures. They currently use about twice the file size that they need to for their respective resolutions.

It looks wonderful!!
So nice to have this back after such a long absence.
Many thanks to everyone who had a hand in working on this so diligently (Steve, Doug, wagga, others?).

I have modified the code behind this page to refresh automatically every 10 minutes:

That picture is worth....a great many words. It looks like there is a good deal of snow in the gully above Iceberg, and the NF is almost visible below Lower Boyscout. It also appears that the area from the Slabs up the Upper Boyscout is under a decent blanket. Good to see.

Snow is pretty deep up there. Mike went in to his waist on the Portal Road.

We've got a new classic photo of Doug:

If he weren't such a skilled Mountaineer, he may have slid all the way to Benton.

Way to go Steve and Doug! That camera is going to work great, nice clear images even at zoom. Love the format on the homepage as well. Thanks.

Speaking of classic photos of Doug, I think this one that Laura took of him is outstanding!

Yes, when I saw it under Moosie's TR I thought:

An instant classic and award winner!

You see a lifetime of experience and wisdom all captured in this one photo.
