m.c., you know you're on my Special People List. Pick a date and then constantly remind me of it because I'm old, I forget.

Spring would be good for a "winter" style ascent, which I think is a bit easier than the scree slog the the route is now. Maybe we'll be lucky and have one of those winters where the lower portion of the drainage get completely covered and it's a walk-up all the way to the Final 400'. Bring skis just in case.

Late April thru mid-May are my favorite times of the year.

Blooty, Mike and Richard,

Thanks so much for letting me hang with your group and the help getting up the final 400 as well as Mt Muir. It was an awesome day all the way around. The fact that you made it down the trail in time for burgers at the Portal just shows how amazing you guys are. I think I cruised in at about 9pm. I will post the pics that I have of the crew when I get them uploaded.

Take care,
Nat.

Richard,

Wayne's Chimney was awesome - Literally, IT ROCKS!! It was one of the highlights of a very memorable and fun-filled day. grin

Short story - Ranger Rob and Dave:

Jack and Betsy delivered a whole bear canister of fresh fruit to Ranger Rob P. (thank you Richard for straightening out my factoids!) in Crabtree Meadow. He was overwhelmed. Ranger Dave told us he works 9 hours days for 9 days, then gets (9?) days off? He had to go retrieve a "rogue wag bag" the day we ran into him.

I am happy to report that I saw only one other suspicious bag all day, although it was in the middle of the trail at trail camp..a "Gap" store bag, prolly fell off someone's pack due to inadequate knot tying technique. Giving the offender the benefit of the doubt.

Well, I'm old too but I do have a good memory... smile I'll pencil in late April to mid-May and we can see how conditions pan out. I'm shooting for lucky regarding "one of those winters". Thanks, Richard, an adventure to look forward to...
