What: Boundary / Montgomery Peaks
When: Saturday, November 14, 2009

This is a preliminary announcement. Doug Sr. will probably chime in with the final details.

What we have planned so far is:

- Car camp at/near the Trailhead Friday night. (Trail Canyon Traihead.)
- Climb Boundary Peak.
- Time permitting, do the class 3 traverse across to Montgomery Peak and back.

This climb will probably be dedicated to Wade Burnette.

Shoot... I'll be in Mexico that weekend just finishing up a climbing trip to the volcanoes there. Looks like fun though.

Hey Richard,
I'm absolutely in for the Baldy Hike on Nov 20th. I went up there yesterday and as I predicted no snow. Big surprise, I'm thinking this will be a good winter but a late one. Last year we got some early storms.
I'll let you know later this week about this hike, I'm going to try and rearrange my schedule so I can do this with you guys. The hike last year Arthur did with Doug looked brutally cold, looks like fun! And yes it would be good to dedicate this hike to Wade. I took a summit photo yesterday on Baldy and wrote something down, and said a short prayer for Wade and his family.

So Sweet. Carole and I are in. We were going to do San G again but this sounds like more fun and we get to hike with you guys again. Count on 2.

Thanks for putting this together Richard.

Darn, Arthur's going to be there, but I can't. I can't get work off next Friday and have to be in San Diego 11am on Sunday. I'll be thinking of you guys while I kill Baldy.

Richard I'm going for your time of 1hr and 47 min. Except I won't be doing it 4-5X, only once....See you guys on Nov 20th at Manker Flats..

I had so much fun hiking with you guys that I would love to go if you all don't think I'm too slow? blush

I did some research online on how to get to the trailhead, and I'm hesitant about whether my little 2WD RAV4 can make it up there... eek Would anyone mind carpooling from maybe the Hostel? I imagine we'll be back on Sat evening and I'm trying to work it so I can go skiing at MM on Sunday also. wink

Thanks and hope to see you all soon!!!

The road to the trailhead wasn't too bad last time and I think your RAV4 will be fine, but we can always throw Richard in the back of Doug's truck if we have to make room for you laugh

And no, your not too slow.

Geez... everybody is ragging on me today. Wait, what's different about that?

I was going to say that the Rally Sentra hasn't been out of the garage in a while... it can go anywhere.

Where was my 'dream team' when I lived in OC? You guys were there, it was just pre-net. frown Will once again be with you (and Wade) in spirit on Boundary/Montgomery. Also on Baldy. I'm coming down for a short stay Thanksgiving weekend but I'm pretty much booked with family and friends. I will be able to make time when I'm down Christmas week. I know it's a busy time but maybe a small group hike could be arranged. I'll start a post in December.

Look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting those of you I haven't met yet... Stay safe and have an awesome time! smile

Maybe I can talk Len and Bill into coming out. Bill's got one of those HUGE Mountain Hardware domes. That thing will hold all of us and withstand the weather we had last year.
