Aussie someone or another made a post about Cloudripper and it sparked my interest. The Palisades are surrounded by the most amazing alpine scenery and mountains - they may not match the height of Her Majesty Whitney, but their beauty is not to be denied. With names such as Thunderbolt, Temple Crag, Two Eagle Peak, Picture Puzzle, Cloudripper, Sky Haven, not to mention those peaks named after the famed Mountaineers who first climbed them...well, obviously it was a place worth visiting. It's a place I will go to again - I am sure it's going to be gorgeous in the fall. I make no claims about my abilities. I wish I had been able to join Mike and Richard this weekend, but their skill level is far above mine. That being said, you don't have to be a MOUNTAINEER to enjoy the beauty of this region.

Blooty, is that Second Lake behind you, and Temple Crag filling the background?

Blooty, I'm so jealous. It looks like you had a great time. Let me know anytime you want someone to hike with. I got my tent and everything to go with it.

Hey are you going on the group trip on 10/17?

I agree! I climbed up Cloudripper in September and the views of the Palisades and Palisade Glacier were amazing. I could even see Owens Gorge from up there.
