Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Best Onion Valley map?

What is the best map of the peaks around Onion Valley (Independence, University, Gould, Dragon, Kearsarge, etc.) that can be purchased online? I need it soon . . .

I have Tom Harrison's Sequoia and King's Canyon map, but the Onion Valley region is not covered in sufficient detail.

You just need to get the 7.5 minute USGS quads. I think it's Kearsarge Peak for most of it; Mt. Clarence King for the west side of Kearsarge Pass. They don't make the 15 minute anymore, which I think covered all of it (though REI might still custom print those -- not sure).

topo.com gives you an option to purchase, e.g., where that map section is. You can move around looking at different levels of detail. I find it an inexpensive planning tool.

Or if you dont' mind it a bit sketchy, print it out.
