Yo SkyPilot, I know you mean no ill will but "I still have an uneasy feeling about this trip"? Why would you post some negative vibes about anyone going into the backcountry....C'mon man positive posts or keep the comments to yourself.

I might have a change of plans and join the overnighters. Anyone got tent space? I take up very little room (a little bigger than a large marmot). Thanks. If not I might just stick to my dayhike plans. Almost on the road! See you all up there.

Carole love the updates, keep em coming. I'm taking my overnight gear now. My thinking is with zero change to aclimatize if I don't feel well on Saturday can make another push on Sunday. But hopefully the Yeti summits with his Zombie brother....

As they say in Ireland, before a sea voyage:

Will be waving back; hopefully from the slopes of Mt. Hood. Going up for afternoon skiing on Saturday (if weather corporates)... The pic below is what I'll be doing Friday and also Saturday morning while the crew is on Whitney:

MC with auger drill 4/15/10. Electrical rough-in.

Good luck to the 'MC crew' (per sierragator). wink You guys will be in my thoughts the entire time you're on the mountain. ♥

Well I would bring my signal mirror; but I think we are going to need some stronger mountain medicine for this long distance communication. I am sure you will feel us in your heart and in your thoughts.

If someone can get a message to JamesL- I have plenty of tent space (I brought 3 to choose from).

I was all set to camp out at the Portal tonight, but went to my folks' house for dinner. And wine. And cookies. Now sleepy. I think I'll sleep low and meet the group at McD's

A few hours of sleep and then off to the mountain I go. Hoping tomorrow is a beautiful day.

Just got a pm from the Yeti man - his head cold has kicked it up a notch and thinks he should stay home and not put his body through more abuse. As someone who has been fighting a case of crud over the last month or so, I can relate. Say some prayers that he recovers fast.

Hope Yeti feels better. Gator should catch up to you so you'll have company in the dark til you meet up with the crew at camp. Thoughts with you... tomorrow's going to be beautiful. smile
