Hi,

This is my first post to the board and I just hope the question is not too stupid (I did try looking for the answer on the board before posting).

I have reserved a tent site at the Whitney Portal Campground and I am not sure if that means I can only have one tent or whether I can place two tents in one site as we are a group of 4 with 2 tents. I would hate to unnecessarily reserve a second site if someone else could use it instead.

You can definitely pitch two tents per site (more on some of them based on the size of the site) at the Portal Campground - enjoy !

These sites vary is size and configuration. We have had as many as three 2-person backpacking tents up on few them.

A bigger issue might be the size of the parking stall, if you have multiple vehicles.

Thanks for the reply. We'll try to fit into one car but will have two 2-person tents.
