April Fool's day sounds like a good date for such an undertaking

Skiing the JMT is gonna be a year or two from now, but I'm pretty determined to make it happen. Being a flatlander most of the year I will need to work my way into the winter backcountry in stages. That's part of the reason why I want to come out west this spring - ski a little and test some winter gear, and why not climb Whitney while I am there?

You know, a few weeks ago Doug had mentioned that he IS willing to lead a trip up the North Fork to LBSL to let people see what it is like to climb up there with someone who knows it like the back of his hand. I've been wondering if there would ever be an announcement...

Maybe someone with a little more influence can convince him to head up for this.

It is way too cool listening to him tell stories about many of the landmarks in the North Fork drainage. I've been on that terrain with him twice and was fascinated both times.

That would be awesome Richard! I don't think it's possible to spend time with Doug and NOT learn something!
