Has anyone been up the north fork of lone pine creek to Mt Carillon recently? Looking for conditions, suggestions. I've been up mountaineer's route in past and looking for another interesting climb. Thanks

I'm actually interested in some info in this area as well. Anyone have any idea if the typical sandy slog from the NF to Russell-Carillon Pass is covered in snow? I'd rather head up that way than to use the Rockwell-Variation if it is indeed snowy.

Sorry AxeMan - didn't get your message before I left. I ended up taking the north fork of lone pine creek up to lower boyscout - set up camp and then headed up to Carillon following the left side of Carillon creek. Awesome couple of days!

dietcookie - don't know if you'll see this before heading up, but there is still plenty of snow between NF and Russell-Carillon pass - it was getting soft/sloppy in the mid to later afternoon. Enjoy! Had my first pancake with Doug Sr & Doug Jr on May 25th - just finished it today, they are HUUUGE! Should have never ordered the hashbrowns too...
