I am due into Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 4 around 10:30 am to spend time on the main trail. I have looked at the info available but have not found Saturday transportation to get me into Lone Pine.

Any suggestions?

Renting a car may be the best (only?) viable solution.

You might check and see if there is a Greyhound Bus available. Otherwise you'll probably have to rent a car. Personally I would rather rent the car than waste all the time on a bus ride.

Good info, Greyhound is out as they do not do the Owens Valley. I need one way into Lone Pine and not round trip. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Slight change would make an easy connection, fly into Reno a bus from our area runs 4 days a week from the Reno Airport to Lone Pine. Check easternsierratransit.com leaves Reno 1:50 PM arrives Lone Pine 7 :40 pm Mon, Tues, Thurs Fri. Thanks Doug

A few years ago I did Lone Pine to Las Vegas one way on same day, so you can do this in reverse order ( but not every day of the week)

Lone Pine to Inyokern/Ridgcrest/China Lake NAS on ESTA/CREST bus

rent car one way Ridgecrest to Las Vegas.

When I did it a few years ago, the bus stopped right next to the rental car place in Ridgecrest. this may be different now. Call them and ask. Website not enough info.

And lots more details at Mt Whitney Shuttle Service. As usual, call or use more local sources than me for up to date info on availability

Have you considered actually flying on United into InyoKern Airport?? There are flights from LA to InyoKern & you can rent a car there. Much closer to Lone Pine than either Las Vegas or Reno.
